Given the sensitivity of the petrochemical industry to global developments, petrochemical companies in Asia have no choice but to be constantly aware of what goes on in the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. In this regard, listed in this section are key players of the petrochemical industry outside of Asia – associations and major corporations. By having them listed here, companies in the APIC member countries can hopefully be made aware of the developments in the petrochemical industry outside of Asia, which present both opportunities as well as threats for them.

Canada's Chemical Producers

CCPA is the national trade association of Canadian chemical manufacturers, representing 70 companies and Responsible Care Partners with from 5 to 5,000 employees. The average chemical company in Canada is a small to medium sized enterprise, ranging from family owned chemical companies to affiliates of global chemical companies. CCPA members operate some 200 basic chemical and resin manufacturing sites across Canada. Together, these companies generate revenues of more than $24 billion annually.
Our association engages in a highly diverse and sophisticatied range of activities in order to create value for its members. With this in mind, CCPA developed an information package that tells members and the public in plain and simple language about the many ways in which CCPA creates value. This document is called 'Creating Value for our Members'.

EPCA is active in the chemical business at large. It operates for and through its members that are chemical producers, their service providers, their customers and their suppliers. EPCA is a service provider for its members, driven by customer satisfaction. Company members participate in the board, the logistics committee and working groups in accordance with the EPCA statutes.

Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA)

Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association (GPCA) was originally conceived in 2004 by its founding members with a view to forming a dedicated and non-profit association serving all of its members with a variety of data, technical assistance and resources required by the petrochemicals and chemicals industry. The Founding members’ vision foresaw the need for a voluntary and non-profit association focused on providing the resources, aid and technical assistance needed by the petrochemicals and chemicals industry of the Gulf. This early insight proved to be accurate, enabling GPCA to come into existence speedily and be immediately accepted in the Gulf. On March 1st 2006, GPCA was officially launched in Dubai by its members in an official ceremony. The organisation’s role and range of services were highlighted, enumerating GPCA’s benefits to the industry in general and to its members in particular.

NPRA, the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association, is a national trade association based in Washington, D.C. representing nearly 500 members, including virtually all U.S. refiners and petrochemical manufacturers. Our members supply consumers with a wide variety of products used daily in their homes and businesses. These products include gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, lubricants, and the chemicals that serve as "building blocks" for everything from plastics to clothing to medicine to computers and many other products essential to maintaining and improving the nation's quality of life.
