Shell lifts FM from Singapore cracker

Shell has restarted operations at its cracker following an unplanned shutdown.

A Polymerupdate source in Singapore informed that the cracker was restarted on October 19, 2015. The cracker was taken offstream on October 14, 2015 on account of a technical glitch. The company has also lifted force majeure (FM) on supplies of base chemicals from its cracker. The FM was declared last week.

Located at Bukom Island in Singapore, the cracker has an ethylene production capacity of 960,000 mt/year and propylene capacity of 540,000 mt/year.
