Denka to shutdown SM plant permanently

An industry source based in Japan informed a polymerupdate team member about plans of Denki Kagaku Kogyo (Denka) to permanently shut down a styrene monomer (SM) plant.

The source said, “the plant is located at Chiba in Japan and has a production capacity of 240,000 mt/year.”

The source added, “the company is likely to shutdown the plant permanently in May 2012.”
